Lots of time: ’63 Chevrolet C10 1/2 Ton
Fifty years ago, a farmer walked in to his local Chevy dealer in a small town in Oregon and sat down to order his new truck. No ordinary farmer, this guy. For he didn’t order some drab dark green he ordered red. Then he checked off the 283cid V-8 box and added a 4-speed manual transmission on the floor where it belongs. The interior has a painted dash with a very sixties tri-tone vinyl bench seat. It took fifty years to get it to look the way it does. No, it isn’t perfect. It wouldn’t be as interesting if it were. This one shows what life on the farm for fifty years does to a truck. It is a story of farm life in red. The original owner parked it in 1990 for some reason. We think the reason was the condition of the farmer and not the truck. With a little bit of work erasing the ravages of sitting, it was a running truck again. The seller did everything right with this one. They made it safe to drive by redoing the fuel system, brakes and suspension. And the best thing is, they didn’t paint it. No, they polished it and detailed the engine compartment. So the history of the truck is intact and we would be honored to be the next custodian. But alas, our duty is to our readers. Go get this one and don’t you dare think of painting it. Click here for the listing.
