BRG: ’62 Jaguar XKE FHC
There is nothing on earth better than an E-Type Jag in British Racing Green. Perhaps we are overstating that a little bit. But you have to admit it is a beautiful sight to behold. This one is a really early car from 1962. Well, sort of. It was restored in the ’90s and looks like it is holding up okay. Consider it a driver quality Jaguar because it doesn’t have the original 3.8 liter engine. The gearbox has been rebuilt recently and that is a good thing because it is not the E-Types best feature. The seller tells us it has factory power steering and we could find no reference to that being offered in ’62 so maybe it was added when the ’67 motor was dropped in. The interior looks good with patina and we like the early cars with the toggle switches even though they break often. This might be a nice opportunity to get an E-Type Coupe at a discount because of the non-original drivetrain. We spotted this one on Hemmings with an asking price of $55,900. Not sure it is worth that much either. Let’s watch the auction to see what the eBay public thinks. We know how to contact the seller if it doesn’t meet reserve. Click here for the auction.
