Opportunity knocks: ’67 Volvo 122S Wagon
The Amazon Wagon is hands down, one of our favorite station wagons. They maintain the sporty characteristics of the 122S Sedans with some serious practicality. If you find a decent example, there are many directions you could take and lots of help is available through a strong Owner’s Club. The first thing you do is get an IPD catalogue or one of the many other suppliers of performance parts for Volvos. Take this featured Wagon that you’ll be able to buy for a good price. It is in remarkable condition with a really nice interior. The paint might not be the best but Pebble Beach isn’t the goal. You can buy this one for less (we think) because it is on a salvage title., It was purchased at a dismantler (fancy name for junk yard) and that follows the car forever. Apparently the automatic transmission blew and the owner had enough so off it went. The seller is an enterprising person who sourced a 3rd pedal and 4-speed transmission. There has been extensive work done to it to bring it to a very good driver status including KYB Gas shocks and bigger sway bar. It even has a pair of driving lights up front. We are told most everything works and it comes with the original jack and tool kit. It is over $5000 with 5 days to go. Click here for the listing.
Excellent example of a very useable vintage volvo.
