Way, way back: ’65 Ford Country Squire
The American Station Wagon is a real phenomena. Nobody did it better than Ford in the 60s with the Country Squire. Yes, we like a few imported wagons like the Volvo 122S we featured yesterday but the Country Squire had real purpose. It was almost a status symbol back then. All of that fake wood announced that you arrived. If you were a kid, you most likely opted for Siberia in the 3rd row, And since you probably didn’t have video games you probably passed the time making faces at the driver behind you. Today’s featured Country Squire is in really rare condition. People just did not think to preserve an old Station Wagon back then. This one was owned by a retired Police Officer who probably learned respect for a machine by carrying a gun. You take care of your gun and it takes care of you. The interior of this one is remarkable and they tell us it is original. The exterior has been refinished and the vinyl wood trim renewed to perfection. Of course you can still tell it is fake but who cares. This is the perfect classic wagon if you have a need for one or if you just want to relive your past. The seller is asking $20,000 and that sounds a bit high for us although if money were no object we would be tempted. Click here for the listing.
