A Step-Down: ’51 Hudson Pacemaker
These new Hudsons that debuted in ’48 were referred to as Step-Downs because they were the first car to cradle passengers between the frame rails allowing for lower seating positions. Hence, Step-Down. They were pretty cool looking back then and were actually pretty lethal at the race track. Today’s Hudson is very original, again with lots of patina. It is not the top of the line model but actually the least expensive model. It has less than 50,000 miles and it is a 3-speed on the column. We like the subtle artwork and pinstripes that could actually be period but could also be made to look old. We think it is cool none the less. Expect around $10,000 to make this your own.
