Done: ’60 Austin-Healey Sprite
The Bugeye Sprite is perhaps on of the most fun, tossable British sports cars. And they are very capable performers. Back in the day, they were pretty decent rally cars even in the worst weather. Granted the weather gear is somewhat marginal with side curtains and a soft top. The rally cars wore hardtops and they look very cool. This one was treated to a complete rotisserie restoration and looks like it was done to a good standard. These are simple to take apart but if you start with a rusty car, it can ugly quick. You see these were among the first cars to utilize a monocoque in mass production. That just makes repairing rusty things more difficult. The interior, paint and gaps look good and so does the engine detailing. We like the choice of Panasports too. Is it perfect? The seller says it is one of his favorites but doesn’t claim perfection. Neither did Donald Healey. The seller is asking $22,500. Pretty much all there is. Click here for the listing.
