The other guy: ’67 Mercury Cougar GT
We tend to feature any really great Mustang from the formative years and those years for us are ‘64.5 to ’70. Not a short span of time. But we love Mustangs and we think our readers do too. There is the “other car” over at Mercury that occasionally deserves some attention – the Cougar. The Mercury Cougar did not follow the Mustang play book exactly. The planners at Mercury tried to position the Cougar as a more luxurious version of the Mustang. However there were some overlaps along the way and we have one for you today. It is a ’67 Cougar GT packed with a 390cid V8 and an automatic transmission. This is an original, unrestored example with tons of patina. It is a true survivor. In addition to the automatic, it is equipped with working air-conditioning. The paint is a bit thin in places and the interior isn’t perfect but it will show well in a survivor class for sure. Everything is documented by a Marti Report. It isn’t particularly rare from a production viewpoint but certainly rare in condition. Click here for the listing.
