Early Spider: ’56 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider
The early Giulietta Spider 750 Normale is prized by aficionados for its purity to the original design. That is not to say the changes to the next iteration, the 101, were ungainly. Quite the contrary. But Alfisti like the shorter wheelbase, small tailights, hood spear and absence of vent windows of the early cars. Of course, there are a host of mechanical difference between the 750 and the 101 too. Today’s Giulietta is a beautiful example in white with red interior. The exterior looks to be well executed with nice gaps (at least the gaps that can be seen in the photographs). The seller indicates the Spider has no immediate mechanical needs and is ready to be enjoyed on day one. The interior looks fairly new and we have heard that these seats aren’t the easiest to do correctly. We see a few small areas that could have been done better but all in all it looks like a pleasant place to spend the day. Prices for these Spiders have jumped a little ahead of the market. At the $75,000 asking price, you are looking pretty much at full retail or better. SCM Price Guide has the best going for $75 grand and we can’t say this is one of them without a personal inspection. But the seller has a good reputation so it is definitely worth a look. Click here for the listing.
