Good Move: ’67 Austin-Healey 3000 MK III
The Big Healey is pretty rare compared to many other collectible cars but there usually isn’t a shortage of available examples to look at. Most have been treated (mistreated) to a total or partial restoration of varying degree of quality. So it takes a good idea when scanning hundreds of pictures to recognize a good solid, mostly original example. So thanks to frequent reader, Stuart J., for managing the impossible (or difficult). Today’s Healey is finished in traditional British Racing Green with black interior. The interior is special because it is original Ambla material and that is unobtainium. The dash is beautiful with that beautiful wood dash and Smith gauges. The engine bay is nicely detailed and so is the entire chassis. The Healey comes with a new Robbins top and an original boot. It has a complete tool kit too. We love the decision to stay with period correct painted wires instead of chrome wires. This Healey is represented by Kurt Tanner Restoration and they are known for the finest Austin-Healey restorations. So our hats are off to them for the restraint they and the current owner had in preserving much of the originality of this example. The asking price is $54,900. Click here for the listing.
