Queenie: ’68 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2
Ferraristi call these wonderful 4-seaters Queen Mothers. The deserved title was bestowed upon this model because it was the most sophisticated and well-equipped Ferrari to date. The chassis was made of Ferrari’s familiar combination of oval and round steel tubing. The 320hp, well-proven 4.4-liter V12 engine was coupled to a 5-speed gearbox and that resulted in a top speed of 150 mph. It came fully equipped with power windows, steering and A/C. Even the little vent windows were powered. There is a resemblance to the Ferrari Superfast but nowhere near as valuable. They made a handful of Superfasts and 802, 365 GT 2+2s.We really like the lines of the QM. It is a big car with an accommodating pair of rear seats. For many years, people kept these Ferraris at arm’s length and they still can be had for reasonable front-engine V12 money. Today’s 365 GT is a matching numbers example with 37,700 original miles. It is very dramatic in black/black and thankfully, it has Borrani wires to brighten things up a bit. It is currently living in California but the seller doesn’t tell us much more than that. We don’t know the service history however the seller would probably be glad to share that with you. The asking price is a flexible $175,000. We’ve seen non-running cars offered at $135,000 so perhaps this is a good deal. Click here for the listing.

She is refered to as the Queen Mother due to the matronly derriere, by the way. The proportions of the tail seen in profile view are a bit alarming.
