Rare sight: ’68 Fiat Dino Coupe
Bertone designed the Dino Coupe and Pininfarina designed the Spider version. Back in the day, people liked the styling of the Coupe more. Some say the additional wheelbase length helped the proportion a bit. In either case, a Fiat Dino is a rare sight here in the states. The early cars, like today’s Coupe, were built by Fiat and possessed sketchy build quality. But they did possess some really neat bits like a 160hp 2.0 liter V6 connected to a Ferrari 5-speed gearbox. Finding a nice example here in the USA isn’t easy. The holy grail is the rare 2.4 liter Spider. But this elegant Coupe is worthy of a second look. The seller tells us it has many new parts like a stainless steel exhaust, clutch, brake master and ignition. It is hard to estimate a price without better pictures and more detail. So let’s quote the Hagerty Valuation Tool. A prime example is at $44,000 followed by a condition #2 at $28,900. Click here for the listing.
