#20: ’95 Ford Cobra R
Back in 1993, Ford’s Mustang started to climb back out of the doldrums. Okay, there were some 5.0 liter cars that collectors like very much but none were really an entire package built by a special division of Ford called SVT. And boy, do they know how to specify a car! The SVT Cobra was a huge success. But this one is “specialer”. In order to qualify to buy an R, you needed to have an SCCA license. They only made 250 of them, all in the same color, white. It is a special car. Cobra R’s had a GT-40 351 Windsor, Tremic TKO 5-speed, 3.55 positraction, big brakes, race suspension and many light weight parts. To save weight they tossed the radio, A/C, power windows, carpet insulation, rear defrost, back seat, spare tire/jack. This one is probably one of the lowest mileage cars having accumulated only 3,500 miles. The seller is the 2nd owner and has kept all of the paperwork the car came with and that includes a letter from SCCA and a certificate from SVT. The seller is asking $33,500.
