Boxes checked: ’85 Alfa Romeo GTV-6
The GTV-6 is an interesting car.In good running order, they are a very fine and satisfying sports car for not a ton of money. The GTV-6 has a 5-speed transaxle and differential at the rear with rear inboard disc brakes. Not too shabby. The suspension consists of double wishbones up front and a deDion axle in the rear. That makes for a very balanced and pleasant handling car. This Alfa has all of the boxes checked: it is a rust-free Southern car, it is red, owned by an Alfa fanatic and very well cared for. The list of maintenance and replacement items is impressive by any standard. Upgrades are plenty too from the wheels and spoiler to the Nardi steering wheel. The wheels are a good choice and the stock set goes with it. But most impressive are the engine mods: camshafts, headers, exhaust to name a few. Some say a GTV-6 engine in good form is one of the best sounding engines ever. The suspension benefits from a recent set of Bilsteins too. All of this for a $7,500 asking price. This one was gone and off of Hemmings by the time you guys published it…so sad! Such a beauty…and a great price. Was it a scam?
