Police Package: ’65 Ford Country Squire
We happen to think the ’65 Fords were one of the most upscale looking Fords of the period. We seem to remember commercials comparing the interior cabin noise to be lower than that of a Rolls-Royce. Perhaps it wasn’t a Rolls but it was something expensive. They had very simple elegant design with stacked headlamps that were popular back then. The top sedan was the LTD and the top wagon was, and always will be, the Country Squire. This one is very special and probably one-of-one. It was ordered by a Ford dealer for his wife and he checked off every box on the build order sheet. Options include the T-Bird Tilt-Away steering wheel, GT package, Police Interceptor package with a 390 CID Interceptor engine (package includes heavy-duty radiator, Lincoln brake drums, heavy-duty front sway bar, power steering fluid cooler, 1/2 ton rear end), power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, AM radio w/ rear speaker, power windows, power tailgate glass, tinted glass, 2-speed windshield wiper w/ washer, clock, XL bucket seats and console, swing-away steering wheel, convenience group, backup lights, and luggage rack. What a cruiser! It was restored a few years ago and has a few mechanical upgrades. We love it except for the wire wheel covers. An easy fix. It isn’t cheap but boy, can you have some fun with this one. The sellers are asking $24,000 and you can contact them by clicking here.
