Sweet: ’70 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia
Sometimes our clever (at times) headlines are hard to conjure up in our imagination. It wasn’t for this Bahia Red Karmann Ghia. It is one sweet ride. We feature nice Ghias when we find them but we can’t tell you if one was ever as appealing as this one. The color is perfect and original to the car. It looks to be in great condition too. California Classix is one of our favorite sellers and they never cease to amaze me with their car finding skills. They mention in their descriptive copy that it is hard to find Karmann Ghias that haven’t been messed with. They also mention stance, a word we used earlier this week in our exclusive Carrera Targa copy. They are correct in their evaluation of this Ghias stance. It appears to be sitting just like the factory intended 44 years ago. This one has all of the details in order to. The clever windshield washer water bottle is pressurized by the air in the spare tire. All of the required simple plumbing is in place and in working order. That instills confidence that the rest of the details haven’t been overlooked. It is an auction that could go as high as $18 or $19 grand according to Hagerty. That is if it is a #2 condition car upon inspection. Ghias like this in #3 condition bring about $13 to $15 grand. Click here for the auction listing.
