It was built by with a prototype Flachbau option (M506) available through the Sonderwunschprogramm. We could be nasty and not tell you what that means but we are friends so here it is. Sonderwunschprogramm means Special Wishes Program. That is where your order goes when you specify something special like a Humidor or paint to match your lipstick. Mechanically it sounds well sorted although there is a new engine in it replacing the original 15,000 miles ago. That hurts a little if you consider future appreciation but perhaps the early Flachbau prototype option counters that.
