Early SWB: ’66 Porsche 911 Coupe
The 911 script down low and to the right on the rear deck lid of a 911 tells us it is a really early short wheelbase car. This is an original black/black car according to the Kardex, purchased new in Los Angeles and has remained a west coast car its entire life. The seller says it is relatively solid with only minor rust issues to deal with. The suspension sounds like it is shot from the description and we are sure the engine/trans will need a good going over. The interior is complete and the seller will throw in a proper period Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio. And then there are the wires dangling under the dash. What does that signal? The paint is not great, probably a 10 footer, say the sellers and that might mean a total restoration for this one. With the early 911 market on fire, you’ll probably have to step up to the plate to snag this one. If you wind up paying a lot for it, why would you leave it looking half-baked? If the market continues to support the valuation rise of 911s at the current rate, it might just be worth. Who knows what will happen. The early cars are pretty cool though…click here for the listing.
