Summer ride: ’71 VW Karmann Ghia Convertible
Spring is somewhere (certainly not here in Connecticut) but you still might be thinking about your first vintage car to enjoy on those sunny days and moonlit nights. You’ve seen so many nice Alfas, MGs and Triumphs here on Mint however you might not want to make that level of a commitment. What you really want is a reasonably trouble-free convertible for that summer vintage car experience. This could be it. It is a Volkswagen after all so mechanical simplicity must be tops on your list because speed and handling will be virtually non-existent. This one looks very nice in a bright period color and a nice original looking interior. The seller tells us the engine is strong, transmission shifts nicely and the steering is nice and tight. Trust but verify. The asking price is $8,900. Not expensive but you still need to be careful. Click here for the listing.
Forget the Ghia, tell us more about that Saturn in the background….
Glad you asked. The Saturn was used to chauffeur Prince Charles during his last Royal visit before marrying Camilla. Its historical importance made it too expensive to be Mintworthy.
