Needs Top & Music: ’76 Triumph TR6
There are always a good supply of Triumphs out there so the task of vetting them can be daunting. Given so many choices, many prospective buyers either are paralyzed and can’t make a decision or make a hasty decision. There are a few reasons why we selected today’s find. It is an original paint 2-owner car with records. With original paint cars you can expect there to be flaws but you can also tell if the car is solid and accident free. The other reason why we like it is because it has a factory hardtop. These hardtops are among the nicest looking of any car this side of a Mercedes-Benz SL. If it had an overdrive option it would be perfect. That is if you like yellow and brown. It needs a top and they are plentiful from a number of suppliers. We would try to secure one that has the strip of safety reflective material sewn in. It also has a non-functioning 8-track. We might leave it in place and get some tunes through a mini amp, a 3mm plug and an iPod. But that’s just us. Click here for the listing.
I do agree with the comment about the hardtops looking so good, so good…
The passenger door alignment is “off” a little but fixable. I think I could drive this as is. If I wanted to drive with the top down I would leave it home and drive in true roadster style.
