Insert movie title here: ’67 Alfa Romeo 1600 Spider
All of our Alfisti readers will no doubt notice that we didn’t refer to this Alfa as a Duetto (although we think it is). Nor did we say it is like the car used in the movie The Graduate (drats, we just did). What we have here is a really nice Alfa Spider with long-term owners. It has had only one repaint in the original red about 5 years ago. The top is new and looks decent. The seller tells us the body has no filler and no record of any accidents or bodywork. The seats look a bit fresh and the carpet on the tunnel should be a rubber mat. Reproductions of the rubber mats are available. We are also told it is a non-smoker and 2nd gear synchro remains heathy. These early 1600 Spiders are a joy to drive and not complicated to own. The suspension is supple and handling is very predictable. The asking price is a bit much but considering the cars condition as presented, it might be well worth the investment. The asking price is $28,000. Click here for the listing.
