When you have a car company in post-war Britain that has the initials SS, you sort of know instinctively, that a rebranding might be in order. The Swallow SIdecar Company became Jaguar Motor Company. The new Jaguar Motor Company brought the Mk IV to market in late 1945 therefore the Mk IVs are now recognized as the first “official” Jaguar.
