This is a really well cared for ’73 Roadster with a grille from an earlier model. So the car, especially wearing steelies, has an earlier, period look to it. We posted this car early last week along with the seller’s Yellow Mini. The Mini is off to a new home and the B needs to go soon. The seller has dropped the price to $11,000 for a totally sorted, get in and drive Roadster. It is in Connecticut near the Massachusetts border. What are you waiting for? You probably think the title refers to the fact that this survivor is a convertible. Alas, grasshopper, that is not the reason. We think this is the same seller that listed the Plum Mist ’67 Pontiac Safari Wagon a few weeks ago. The seller writes the most insanely repetitive listings. You think he may have worked for an advertising agency that believed if you beat something to death the prospect will capitulate just to end the pain. We really like Citroens so it is no surprise to see one on Mint every now and then. But this one is a bit unusual. It is an ID and not a DS. The ID shared the DS’s body but was less powerful. Although it shared the engine capacity of the DS engine. The ID19 was also more traditional mechanically: it had no power steering and had conventional transmission and clutch instead of the DS’s hydraulically controlled set-up. Initially the basic ID19 was sold on the French market with a price saving of more than 25% against the DS. The ID19 followed the DS19’s example in using a punning name. While “DS” is pronounced in French as “Déesse” (goddess), “ID” is pronounced as “Idée” (idea).
