Black beauty: ’66 Jaguar XKE FHC
We don’t see many factory correct black/black XKE Fixed Head Coupes so this one is special already. The first owner took delivery in Dallas and kept the Jaguar for 40 years. It began a multi-year restoration process but the original owner never saw it finished. It was sold to a dealer who sold it to a fashion industry executive in Los Angeles. The owner insisted on trouble-free driving experience and upgraded the cooling system to tolerate Los Angeles traffic. The paint has a few little chips but looks spectacular. The chrome wire wheels are just the right amount of bling and they are wrapped in period correct red-lines but turned inward. We would turn them outward because we aren’t in the fashion business. The interior is really nice with a proper wood steering wheel and matching shift knob. It retains its original radio and we like the period look although it is a small detail in the scheme of things. The chassis is dry and is demonstrative of the care the Jaguar has received throughout its life. Could it be your turn to take care of this black cat?
