Really early B: ’63 MGB
We have featured a number of cars offered by California Classix and this one is a pretty tantalizing example. It is a very early production MGB, probably among the first to hit the US shores. It was built-in September 1962 and represents the purist example of what the MGB engineers envisioned. To give you a frame of reference, the B gained about 800 pounds in weight by the time production ended. This one has 52,000 original miles, a history of only 2 California owners and nicely equipped. In fact, it has pretty much everything except overdrive and that may not have been available back in September 1962. The B has original black interior with red piping, chrome wire wheels and a factory Olde English White hardtop. We love MGBs with hardtops for some reason. The paint looks like it has a lot of patina and since this is a special car, we wouldn’t mess with it. Seeing this one in the flesh could determine what the new owner should do to it; spruce it up or leave it alone. The seller is asking $19,900, California black plates included.
