French Cream: ’46 MG TC
These twin-carb, leaf-sprung TCs provided nimble performance, while the wire wheels, folding windscreen and slab fuel tank gave it charm. The car is known for a hard ride and heavy steering but the hydraulic drum brakes were a welcome addition. These were the darlings of US servicemen stationed in Britain who fell in love with them like they were puppies. Once they hit the shores, the MG became the poster child for the British sports car. The TC’s wooden body frames were made of English oak, and are prone to rotting. But fortunately you won’t need to worry about that with this featured MG. We love the French Cream exterior and the red leather interior. It is represented by Kurt Tanner Restorations however they do not claim to be the outfit that did the restoration. Kurt Tanner is well-known for producing award-winning and record price breaking Austin-Healeys. The car was restored years ago but appears to have held up well. The California owner has recently completed a 1200 mile drive without incident. They are asking $34,900 for this one and that is probably a good place to start for a driver of this quality.
