Impossible: ’66 Porsche 912 Coupe
In a world of $50,000 912s and $100,000 early 911s, could this be a decent value? Let’s get this out up front, it has some rust in the rockers and that is unusual for a SoCal Porsche. So that opens up a whole discussion about getting a thorough PPI before you attack this one. The rest of the 912 looks great with a newly installed interior and recent mechanical work. With that said, why would someone invest that kind of money on a really rusty car? They wouldn’t. The other thing that makes this one interesting is that it is a 3 gauge car. That means it is a really early 912. Later versions have a full complement of 5 individual gauges in front of the driver. The dash and door pockets look very well-preserved and it maintains a period correct radio in the dash. The paint is mostly original and has a few issues but we can’t tell how serious they are without a personal inspection. The seller is asking $27,500. If the rust issue isn’t too bad, this could still be a good car to look at. Click here for the listing.
