Army Vet: ’49 Cadillac Series 62
Here we go with another story car. In this case, not only is the story great, the car is too. The original owner purchased this Cadillac new after returning from a tour of duty in the Pacific. The Caddy has been in his possession until very recently. To say this is a true garage-find is an understatement. While in his care, the Caddy was kept in reasonably good running order and the cosmetics don’t look half bad either. If you like this Caddy and think it will look great with a fresh coat of paint and a set of wide white walls, please leave the site now. This car deserves to be maintained as is. Yes, clean it up as best you can but keep preservation in mind when you do it. After you are done spending a few grand to make it safe and somewhat reliable, enter it into a car show that has a preservation class but before you leave for the show, clear off the mantle for the first of many trophies. We are sure it will need at least that few grand but we don’t know the condition of the soft top. You see it hasn’t been up since ’57. Who knows, there could be a colony of mice living in there along with the bones of their ancestors. You may get lucky and it is in useable shape. Who knows what a Cadillac Series 62 Convertible in this condition is worth. The seller says $34,500. What do you think? Click here for the listing.
