Luxo Racer: ’52 Chrysler New Yorker
Well this isn’t a first for a big American ’50s race car. We’ve featured a few Carrera Panamericana cars in the past. This isn’t another one of those South of the Border racers but a California racer with history. In fact, let’s quote the seller to give you an idea. “The former owner of this car was Martin Swig. He has it in Ca. He was the auto writer for the San Fran paper. Also instrumental in the Gum Ball Rally and Pebble Beach Concours.” “This car has some race history out of California, in the Carrera Nevada 3 years in a row.” We will trust the seller but verify. It is powered by a 331cid Hemi and is mostly unrestored. It has a fluid semi-auto transmission,, 6 volt system with generator removed and alternator installed for more consistent power. It has the original paint and body inspections stamps under the hood. All receipts dating back into the 80’s-90’s. It is extremely cool and not too expensive at the asking price of $9500.
