Dilemma: ’65 Austin-Healey 3000 MK III
The Big Healey is pretty rare compared to many other collectible cars but there usually isn’t a shortage of available examples to look at. Most have been treated (mistreated) to a total or partial restoration of varying degree of quality. So it takes a good eye when scanning hundreds of pictures to recognize a good solid, original example. Then you read a bit further and you discover it has 31,000 miles on it since new. The interior is special because it is original Ambla material and that is unobtainium. It needs some wood repair but that is an easy chore. The exterior looks great. We were excited when we first spotted the listing hoping it was also original paint but alas it isn’t. That doesn’t diminish our enthusiasm one bit. The soft top was also replaced with a proper unit. The drivetrain is original and the car has been well cared for mechanically. This is a good one however it does present a bit of a dilemma to the next owner. You will pay a premium for this because of the low mileage but does that prevent you from driving it as much as you want? Click here for the listing.
