Two Engines: ’60 Porsche 356B 1600
Porsche 356 enthusiasts who want to enjoy their cars will be attracted to the 356B Roadster. The low and rakish lines with a more functional folding top and wind up windows are the perfect compromise between the sporty Speedster and the cushy Cabriolet. It was an interesting time when today’s Roadster was built. Convertible sales in general had fallen on hard times. Therefore not that many were sold here. Today’s car comes out of a collection and has always been well treated. The owner is so protective of the original matching numbers motor he had it removed and stored. The Roadster is now powered by a hopped-up 912 engine. We understand the motivation and if we bought it, we might enjoy all the extra power. Thankfully, the original engine is included in the sale. The silver over red is just about the perfect combination. The interior is in great condition and maintains its period correct radio. A nice detail. The asking price is $165,000 and a few years ago one would think that outrageous. No longer. Let’s say it is a Condition 2 example for arguments sake. That would put this slighty over the $145,000 valuation. Hagerty adds $60,000 for perfection. Click here for the listing.
