So soon?: ’65 Triumph Spitfire MK II
We’ve been featuring cars for some time now and never had a decent early Spitfire until last week. A nice red one with some personal touches added. And then today, this extraordinary one pops into our inbox. As remarkable as it may sound, the seller says this is an original paint, mostly original interior car with just 60,000 miles on the clock. These are wonderful little sports cars with a somewhat tricky rear suspension. The light blue exterior was very popular back then and so were the white wall tires on painted wire wheels. We would keep the wires and ditch the white walls pronto. The seller tells us that the Spitfire was treated to about $10,000 in new parts recently. We didn’t think you could spend that much on any Spitfire. It has many things original including a little bump on the nose. These are inexpensive cars to purchase. This is an auction and we would be surprised, even in this original condition, if it moves into the mid-teens. Click here for the listing.
