Nice Story: ’68 Jaguar XKE FHC
I know what you are saying: “Not another Jaguar for gosh sakes!” The thought did cross my mind when I spotted it but this one is special. The son of the 2nd owner is selling it. Dad acquired the Jag back in ’68 from the dealer. It was the dealer’s personal car. The dealer decided he wanted one with A/C and sold the Primrose Yellow Coupe to his kid’s basketball coach. Coach is now 82 and the Jaguar has to go. The Primrose Yellow finish is original with patina but looks pretty awesome in the pictures. The interior is also original. We don’t know to what extent the seats and carpets have been attended to but modern science can probably help them look even better. This is a Series 1 1/2 car so it has the small chrome bumpers and tailights atop the bumper. But it doesn’t have covered headlights, the nasty Moss gearbox and a 3.8 liter engine. The selling family resurrected the Jag a few years ago and it now has 33,000 miles. The engine was freshened with performance in mind. The twin carbs were replaced with triple SU Carbs and a host of other things to give it more ooomph. They went to 7″ Dayton wires and managed to find a set of real pointy knock-offs like the earlier cars. This is a neat way to buy a Jaguar. Click here for the listing.
