50-50: ’88 Porsche 944 Turbo
We are sorry about posting tiny, crappy pictures. We usually pass on featuring a car if you can’t really appreciate what it looks like. But this one is a bit special. It has 27,XXX original miles and it is documented. If that interests you, you should read on and go to the eBay listing. We are big fans of the 944. There aren’t many cars out there with this level of chassis sophistication coupled with a sensible and usable interior configuration. That translates to a great car that is easy to live with.
Plus it is a Porsche and a this one is a turbocharged Porsche. There aren’t too many companies that know more about turbocharging than Porsche. The ’88 944 also has dual air bags and ABS. The 944 has been through a number of owners and each has added their own little custom touch to the car. Nothing that might dissuade us from considering it since most are able to be returned to stock. But if you like it the way it is, keep it that way. It isn’t exactly the next Carrera RS after all. The seller is asking $16,950 for it and that will be close to a record if they get it. But think of it more like “daily driver” money. Would you rather drive this or a late-model Subaru Outback? Amazing!…..just recently you showed an 85 944..with more miles and the ask was more!
Assuming that each car is in similar and as represented condition,
Guess which one I’d rather have!….
