Stone’s throw: ’54 MG TF Rally Racer
We love a car with a good story. This is one of them. It was ordered by a man named Dale Stone who was an active member of the MG Club. He set the car up as a rally racer and entered it into the Palm Springs, California Desert Rally. The listing tells us, he ordered a Sherrock Supercharger that unfortunately he never installed. There are records and correspondence about this purchase that only adds to the rich history of this TF. The TF hasn’t run yet but the seller’s are going through the methodical process of getting it running again. The TF appears to have been originally a white car and it is now red. When the color change was made, we do not know. The seats look original and very salvageable. How cool is that. We know someone who would love to get his hands on this one. Nice car as is. Not sure I’d restore this, just clean it up and make it drivable. Too much beautiful patina to lose. Wanted one of these since I was involved with the MG Car Club of Chicago and had a TD.
