Here we go with another story car. In this case, not only is the story great, the car is too. The original owner purchased this Cadillac new after returning from a tour of duty in the Pacific. The Caddy has been in his possession until very recently. To say this is a true garage-find is an understatement. While in his care, the Caddy was kept in reasonably good running order and the cosmetics don’t look half bad either. Everyone goes bananas for a Sunbeam Tiger but the basis for the Tiger, the Alpine, gets short shrift. It shouldn’t because it is a really decent sports car in the British tradition. Alpines were pretty competitive too winning their class in SCCA racing here in the states and making a pretty decent showing in rallies in Europe. We have a thing for rally cars and that would be the direction we might take with this one. And one reason for that is the factory hard top that comes along with it. Read More

Renault automobiles were very popular back in the early ’60s. Popular might not be the best description. Let’s say they sold well. We don’t remember exactly but we are pretty sure they weren’t on Consumer Reports recommended list for reliability. We could be wrong so please let us know. Although they had a similar layout to the VW, they were known for their exceptional small car ride and comfort. Better than a VW Bug by a mile.
