Our first: ’64 Ford Cobra 289 Replica
This is our first Cobra Replica. We like this one because it is unusual for a few good reasons. Most efforts select the wider more bad-ass 427 version to emulate. This one is built like a 289. In keeping with the lightweight and smaller displacement theme, the client selected the very capable Ford SHO V6 and then checked off the Paxton Supercharger box. That combination produces 346HP delivered to the ground through a Richmond 5-speed. The ’64 AC Cobra 289 FIA Replica is finished in Brilliant Silver with black leather sport seats. The list of equipment specification is long and includes a Jaguar/Salisbury IRS rear, custom-built stainless headers, 11 inch vented Wildwood brakes with adjustable bias, Simpson lap race belts, period correct A/C wood steering wheel, Halibrand style alloy wheels, and much more. If we were to do a Cobra from scratch, this would be it. Driven just 2,017 miles since built you could buy this for a fraction of the $65,000 build cost. Nice. Contact Mark Starr at 914 217-4817.
