Coveted: ’67 Alfa Romeo Sprint GT Veloce
So, why are we posting this when with just one phone call, we can (or should) buy this offering ourselves. But since we are such nice folks here at Mint, we will allow you to scoop this one up yourself. Now, you can’t deny that this is one beautiful Bertone Coupe. The “Scalino” or “Stepnose” Alfa GTs are among the most coveted in the collector car world. And this one is a rust-free, black-plate California car with matching number motor. A rarity in this world with so many of these cars “upgraded” to larger engines in search of a few more horsepower. But horsepower isn’t everything.
The 1600cc, dual Weber motor is a joy to drive and to listen to. The gearbox, if in top form, is also precise and extremely pleasant to operate. We owned a 1300cc version in this color combo and it was a hit where ever we went. The asking price seems spot on at $29,500, even a bit low if the description is accurate (trust but verify). These are expensive to repair. We had to do seat covers in the front of ours and it ran into the thousands to do right. So paying a premium to get one with few needs sounds like a smart move. The folks at California Classix seem like stand up folks, but we would still recommend a PPI. Click here to see more photos and contact the sellers.
That rear bumper sure doesn’t look aligned too well. Makes me wonder—-
