A Holy Grail: ’67 Porsche 911S
The Porsche 911S Short Wheelbase is one of the most sought after collectible Porsches today. So it isn’t the Holy Grail, it is a Holy Grail. The Short Wheelbase cars (SWB) are a little twitchy, actually more twitchy than the newer long wheelbase (LWB) cars. The SWB cars are more welcome to events than the later cars but only by a hair.
This car has a documented history from Day 1 and that is worth a bundle. The 911 has been in and out of storage because the owners were in the armed forces and they were moved around quite a bit. Because of these storage stints, the S has accumulated only 138,000 miles. The owner’s did put a major effort into returning the Porsche to its former glory. That involved new paint, interior and mechanical rebuild. All done by the 2nd long-term owner. It is just the way you want one of these. Click here for the eBay ad.
