Green with envy: ’74 Jaguar E-Type V-12
We’ve been following this seller for years and he always manages to come up with something special. In fact, we’ve never seen ordinary being offered by Ivan. We guess he prefers to wait until the right car comes along. We agree with Ivan – there are many white, red, silver, BRG E-Types out there. So it really is refreshing to see something different. This is color is called Greensand and we like it very much. Perhaps this was a special order car because it is fitted with green leather interior. We can’t get enough of green – the right green – so we think this is truly wonderful. Another plus for this offering is the manual gearbox. Most of these were built with automatics as they were definitely marketed as a great touring car rather than an all out sports car. It comes with the optional factory hard top that probably doesn’t get much use. It looks okay in place and is certainly nice to have. The Jaguar has been treated to a ton of upgrades, all with the intention of providing a more roadworthy and reliable car. And the previous owner was clever enough to ditch the rubber baby buggy bumpers for a cleaner Euro look. Ivan set the price at $79,000 which is at the top of the market but considering the mileage, modification work, manual transmission, wire wheels and the unique color combination, it could be spot on.
