Since the beginning of the existence of the sports car and the emergence of the American market for them, there have been American powered hybrids. Some of our favorites are the Nash-Healey LeMans, Ghia 450SS, Dual-Ghia, and one might say the Vignale-bodied Cunningham, although the Cunningham is an American car with an Italian body.
