Estate Sale: ’60 Jaguar Mark IX
This is a big, luxurious Jaguar and we have always appreciated its classic styling and elegant interior. It is rare to find an unrestored example in driveable condition but we found this one early Monday morning on eBay. It was the summer driver on an estate on Long Island. The seller has added a number of photos of the car with the proud original owner. The paint and interior are original and it appears that the interior may have survived a little better than the paint. The black paint looks decent and might clean up however the seller states it is a 20-footer. The interior is red leather with tons of wood. Thankfully, it has the comfy looking bucket seats upfront and picnic tables in the rear. Of course it is an automatic and that is not unusual with this model Jaguar. It has most of its original tool kit in place and the spare is a bias-ply from decades ago. according to the listing, you can get in and drive it but it needs a thorough refresh to make it roadworthy and reliable. Reliable as a Jaguar can be. This is a candidate for survivor class competition with a doubt. These are not incredibly valuable but we think collectible. Sports Car Market has them at 4 stars and that must be because their high value is a paltry $22,000 for a perfect car. Click here for the auction.
