Fresh air: ’95 Porsche 911 Carrera C2
The legions of Porschephiles are divided into a number of camps. There are the front engine crowd, the mid engine crowd and the rear engine crowd. No doubt the later is the largest group. But within that group there is a sub-group of air versus water-cooled cars. The hard-core Porschephiles are clearly air-cooled. But we are just beginning to trust the water-cooled Porsches now and wouldn’t mine a new 911 Coupe in Mint’s garage. Yet many believe that the last of the air-cooled cars are Porsche’s best. That should stir some debate because every model year Porsche seems to have a little baggage to carry. But on the whole, these 993s are pretty neat cars. There are plenty of them available at dealers and on the eBay marketplace but we found this one on Rennslist. Porschephiles hang out there. This one was purchased by the seller from another Rennslister who cared for the Porsche for the first 27,000 miles. It has 32,250 now. That owner spent a wad on an engine-out service at 26,000 so the seller got the benefit of the work done. It is finished in Aventurine Green with a tan interior and looks smashing. The seller spent a considerable time writing about his ownership experience and the tasteful modifications (all reversible) that he performed. They made like 40,000 of these so collectability isn’t the reason to buy. The reason to consider spending $45,000 is to enjoy the Porsche experience for many years to come. The asking price BTW, is just a tiny bit pricey even considering the modifications, 2 sets of wheels and mileage but it certainly is at the top of our list of air-cooled Porsches. We are sure you can work something out with the seller. Click here for the listing.
