Street legal: ’62 Lotus Super Seven Series 2
Designed by Lotus founder Colin Chapman, the Lotus Seven is considered to be the best example of the Lotus philosophy of performance through low weight and simplicity. The original model was highly successful with more than 2,500 cars sold. The Lotus Seven was among the first cars to possess a fully stressed space frame designed for lightness and strength. This is a serious sports car and the car’s space frame was very complex. The Seven did not have opening doors or conventional windows so it looks almost like a kit car but nothing could be more far from the truth. This is a street legal vintage racer in great condition. It looks almost new from the underside. The engine is a competition Ford 1500cc that provides plenty of power for such a light car. It has all of the required safety gear including a fuel cell, roll bar and 5-point harness. It is registered on California yellow plates and comes with the original fuel tank, windshield, Brooklands screen and wipers. And lastly, 2 extra noses. Everything you need to compete safely in vintage racing and maybe win a few races. The asking price is $35,900 and that is pretty much on target. Click here for the listing.
