Jack stands: ’63 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe
This is the first year for the Stingray and the Coupes are noted for the one year only split rear window. Some say they went to a full window in ’64 to save money. Others say it was a safety issue they needed to resolve. Either way, we are happy they did away with it. It makes these cars extra special. Now this one is about as special as you can get. It was driven only 2 summers by the original owner and then put away in a garage on jack stands. It had accumulated 29,000 miles. It was recommissioned in 2011 and quickly became a NCRS Top Flight Award. You can’t get any better than that. This is totally original and it has no stories. Everything works and works well. It comes complete with all of the books and documents including the original dealership sold sticker! Back in 2007, this would probably be a $140,000 Corvette but things have trailed off since then. They have flatlined a bit since a little bump in 2012. Hagerty has a #1 car at $105,000. This Split is worth more in our opinion even in this sort of bourgeoise gold color. The seller is asking $125,000 and will probably wait until they get it. Click here for the listing.
