The Nomad’s unique design had its roots in a GM Motorama show car of the same name that was based on the Corvette. The Concept was introduced at the GM Motorama in 1954 as one of Head Stylist Harley Earl’s “dream cars”. It was a “halo” car meant bolster the full line with the prestige of the special, low volume car. The Nomad, a 2-door wagon, had some roots in the 2-door hardtops of the era.
