4 on the floor: ’68 Porsche 912
In case you haven’t figured us out yet, we are big fans of the 912. There have been some really nice ones here at Mint and they all seem to find a home easily. And there is a good reason for that. The 912 has the same beautifully classic lines of the 911. Most people won’t know it is a lowly but spirited 4-cylinder. The handling is a little less sharp and you have to keep your boot in it to keep up but you’ll appreciate it if something big goes wrong in the nether region. Work on a 912 engine is quite a bit less than a flat 6 version. This offering comes from one of our frequent contributors, Mark S. And it is a beautiful example finished in Kelly Green with Black interior. Driven 128k miles since new, it is a solid, rust-free example with a beautiful interior faithful to the original. It runs strong and has no immediate needs. It is equipped with a 4-speed but most say that since the top gear is similar to the 5-speed, there really isn’t much of a difference. If you’ve been thinking about a summer touring car and have the resources to get one of the best of a breed, this could be the one to just get in and enjoy.
