Sometimes Cute Wins: ’64 Fiat 1100D
No sour grapes, just stating a fact. A Fiat 1100 Station Wagon won our class at the Sunday in the Park Concours at Lime Rock this past weekend. It was very well done and had a nice 1-family history. And it was very cute. It deserved to win and we are sure the judge had a difficult time making the call. We came across this later model Fiat 1100D sedan and felt pretty much the same way. If you want to win your class at a Concours, make sure it is well done and cute. The seller believes (I guess not 100% sure) that the Fiat has covered only 15,427 miles. That is pretty remarkable. It began life in California and has been living in Illinois for some time. The car has been cosmetically refurbished and looks very nicely done. The engine runs well and the seller has replaced some parts and that includes 5 matching bias-ply tires for period authenticity. We don’t know what these are worth but we might guess that it will be in the mid-teens. The opening bid is $5,000 and that hasn’t been secured as of this writing. Click here to see the eBay listing.
I bought this one and was surprised that no one challenged me.
