Grampa’s Prize: ’48 Buick Super 8 Convertible
Here is another car that has stayed in the family since it is new. In this case, a 1948 Buick Super 8 Convertible. These are so Buicky and cool. What a face with that huge chrome waterfall grille. This one hasn’t been driven in decades but it is very complete and it is said to be totally original. Original in the true sense of the term and that being factory paint, interior and drivetrain. Okay so none of the original stuff is in great shape but it may not take a lot to get it into good preservation condition. The engine may be coaxed back to life and who knows how far along you can bring the body and chrome. If it was totally restored, you might be just another Super 8 Convertible at the Buick car meet. But an all-original Super 8 in “as found” condition will make you the car to see. Click here for the eBay auction.
