Cream puff: ’66 Volvo 1800S
We’ve mentioned this every time we find a decent 1800S – they were ignored for a long time but no more. The styling thought to be a bit flamboyant years ago, has matured nicely. In fact, it is a very distinctive design that has stood the test of time. Our featured 1800S is finished in an off white or, as the seller says, “cream” color. It was restored a number of years ago and there is a new red interior done with the appropriate cut & sew pattern. The material looks a little too slick but what are you going to do. The listing tells us that Dynamat was laid in the interior probably done when the seats were recovered. That is something we might consider doing to our Mercedes Rally Car. The engine is not original to the car. It is a B20 producing 118hp instead of the B18. The listing also tells us the electric overdrive works as it should. The seller thinks it is a B+ car but we wouldn’t rate it that high because of the engine swap and a few other things. It is just a nice driver at $17,500. Negotiate hard ’cause this one will sit at this price for sure. Click here for the listing.
