Pop the cork: ’65 Porsche 356SC Coupe

09

We can understand how seller’s, primarily dealers, run out of ways to describe the car they are trying to sell. We like these guys in California. They always come up with nice cars but this is kind of funny. They begin to describe today’s Champagne Yellow SC as very original and proceed to tell you all of the new things the car has going for it, like an entire interior. It is nice that it has a new interior particularly if it is done right but that does not make an original car very original. The SC is the last of a long line of 356s. It is prized among collectors because it has a lot of good things going for it like disc brakes and a powerful 95 hp engine. Read More

Deposit taken: ’90 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa

911 fr

Most car manufacturers attach an internal code name or model number to their cars. The Porsche 964 is one of those internal designations. It was considered to be 85% new compared to its predecessor, the Carrera 3.2. The 964 Carrera was also the last to be available with the traditional removable Targa roof. The 964 is distinguished by the integrated bumpers and automatic rear spoiler that is speed sensitive. 911ProfileIt is also the 1st Porsche with dual air bags. You won’t see today’s featured Carrera Targa anywhere else but here on Mint. It is fresh as it just arrived at the office/shop this morning. It hasn’t even been detailed yet and it looks great. This Targa has a real presence or stance. A good stance, the way a car sits on its suspension, can really make a car look special and handle great. There are websites devoted to cars with great stance but I digress. Read More

Spring isn’t in the air…

ATS Colonel

It’s still cold here in Northwest, Connecticut however we know Spring will come…when it is good and ready. And ready we must be so the M-B 230S aka The Colonel is up in the air at our shop getting the leaking steering box resealed. It has some pretty interesting company. A beautiful ’71 Porsche 911T, a ’84 911SC and, get this – a real live Alfa-Romeo GTA. The GTA is getting suspension components installed so it can get moved around easily. It is a genuine GTA with all the visible rivets and aluminum panels. Alas, none of these fabulous cars are for sale (at this time).
